Polish Officer Breaks Car Window to Rescue Trapped 1.5-Year-Old Child

A 41-year-old mother left her child trapped inside a car when the back door automatically locked with the keys still inside, prompting the quick response of a Polish officer who broke the window to rescue the 1.5-year-old boy.

Child Trapped After Door Automatically Locked

A policewoman from the Somianka station received a distress call on Friday, September 5th at 12:30 about a 1.5-year-old child trapped inside a car. The incident occurred in Somianka, Poland, at the local community center parking lot.

Officer’s Immediate Action Saves Child

Upon arriving at the scene, police corporal Jarosław Bielecki spoke to the frantic mother, who explained that she left her child trapped inside after the doors locked automatically with the keys still inside the car. Bielecki decided to break the window to rescue the trapped child, who had been inside the car for approximately 10 minutes in the high temperature.

Safety and Aftermath of the Rescue

The officer safely removed the child from the vehicle and handed him over to the relieved mother. During the rescue procedure, Bielecki suffered minor cuts.
