Crashes on Highway A2 Lead to Temporary Roadblock as Emergency Helicopter Responds

A motorcyclist crashed into a bus on Poland’s A2 highway near Brwinów on Friday afternoon, shutting down northbound traffic and requiring the deployment of a medical helicopter to transport the injured rider to a Warsaw hospital.

Motorcycle Slams into Back of Bus

The accident occurred on Friday, September 12th at approximately 3pm on the A2 highway leading into Warsaw, near Brwinów. According to initial reports, both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the bus was forced to slow down, causing a young motorcyclist on a Kawasaki to crash into the rear end of the bus.

Emergency Response and Traffic Disruption

Fire brigades from Pruszków and neighboring volunteer fire departments were dispatched to the scene. Emergency services secured the area and designated a landing pad for the medical rescue helicopter. Both the medical team and the helicopter crew rendered first aid to the injured motorcyclist, who was then airlifted to a hospital in Warsaw.

Road Closure and Investigation

During the rescue operation, northbound traffic on the A2 was completely halted. After the helicopter departed, one emergency lane was reopened, but the two main lanes remained closed throughout the incident. Police were on the scene investigating the accident’s circumstances.
