Polish Mayor to Learn Civil Defense from Israel Amid Escalating Space Incursions

Poznan Mayor Jacek Jaśkowiak announced plans to learn civil defense strategies from Israel’s leadership following Russian drone incursions into Polish airspace.

Israeli Defense Expertise

The decision comes after Russian drones violated Polish airspace, though no casualties or damage were reported. Jaśkowiak’s visit will focus on Israel’s expertise in civil defense and cybersecurity.

Razem Party Criticism

The Polish political party Razem, however, has criticized the plan, stating “It’s a shame and disgrace” that the mayor would seek knowledge from Israel’s government given the ongoing conflict in Gaza. They also called for the termination of cooperative agreements with Ra’anana, an Israeli twin city.

International Observations

Federated Russian actions are stronger now than previously, and the mayor noted the international level of diplomacy, with authorities from China and North Korea seen cooperating. Polish authorities must now increase local action.
