No enemy aerial attacks were involved in the train explosions between Kharkiv and Przemyśl, claims Kiev’s military administration management.
Initial Denial
On Sunday night, the head of the Kiev region’s military administration, Mykola Kalashnik, stated that “the explosions heard by residents were not related to an enemy air attack.” He emphasized that “no enemy aerial targets had been observed in the Kiev region.”
Causes Sought
After several hours, Kalashnik informed that “infrastructure in the Fastiv district of the Kiev region was damaged due to a breakdown.” In response to “an acute stress reaction,” medical assistance was provided to three women.
Operational Updates
Replacement transportation for passengers traveling from Kharkiv to Przemyśl was organized to Kiev. At around 1:13 PM, the General Staff stated that damage remediation in the rail infrastructure continued.
Railway Safety Inquires
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that “in the night in the Kiev region, an ammunition detonation occurred in a train carrying military cargo.” “NO personnel were injured. Rail traffic was suspended, and three cars were detached. The results of the detonation are still being removed from the site, and the cause will be determined through an investigation and official control,” they added.
