Majority of Poles Believe NATO Allies Will Help in Case of Russian Attack

A survey conducted by Pollster Institute and published by Super Express found that 67% of Polish respondents believe NATO allies like the U.S., Germany, and France will provide assistance if Russia launches an attack.

Majority Believe in NATO’s Military Support

The study, conducted from September 10-11 using the CAWI method among 1,020 adult Poles, showed that a strong majority (67%) believe in NATO’s willingness to help in the case of a Russian attack. 33% of respondents had the opposite view.

Commentary on NATO’s Military Partnership

Juliusz Sabak, editor of the Defense Portal, commented on the results:

This shows significant trust in the military and political power of the alliance, much greater than for the European Union. Even in a situation where the U.S., NATO’s main military force, appears to be politically wavering, the consistency of the alliance as a whole remains unshaken. This is noticed not only by Poles but also by Russia.

NATO Launches Eastern Guardian Operation

In response to recent Russian drone incursions into Poland and activation of Article 4 of the Washington Treaty by Poland, NATO has initiated a new operation called ‘Eastern Guardian’. This operation aims to provide enhanced and improved protection for Eastern flank forces, addressing the significant threat posed by Russia.

The operation was announced in a joint statement by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and NATO’s European Commander, General Alexus Grynkewich:

The operation will involve forces from several countries, including Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, with special focus on addressing specific drone-related challenges.
