Putin Threatens NATO Over Ukraine No-Fly Zone

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine would mean direct war with Russia, according to state media TASS.

Putin commented on the proposal by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski for a NATO no-fly zone over Ukraine, calling it a “provocative idea from Kiev.” He warned that implementing such a zone along with allowing NATO countries to shoot down Russian drones would “only mean one thing: war between NATO and Russia.”

The Russian leader also ridiculed the European initiative “Eastern Sentry,” describing it as a leftover from a “coalition of eager volunteers.” He sharply commented on a visit by Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur to Kiev.
