Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that the state security service neutralized a Russian drone flying over government buildings and the Belvedere in Warsaw, detaining two Belarusian citizens.
Drone Incident Details
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the incident on Monday (September 15), reporting that the Belarusian citizens were arrested for operating a drone near government buildings. Security forces detected the drone and notified their commander before dispatching a patrol unit to apprehend the individuals on the scene.
Government Comments
Prime Minister Tusk warned in a post on social media that the real threat came from Eastern actors rather than Western allies, stating, “Don’t look for the enemy in the West. European allies did not fail at the moment of truth. The threat comes from the East.” Poland temporarily closed its border with Belarus in response to the ongoing Russian-Belarusian Zapad 25 military exercises.
