A report from Yale’s School of Public Health identified 210 Russian centers where Ukrainian children are being forcibly deported, subjected to “re-education” programs, and military training.
210 Identified Russian Centers for Deporting Ukrainian Children
The report, based on open-source data, media reports, Russian government documents, and satellite images, found that Ukrainian children are being transported to 210 centers across Russia. These facilities include vacation camps, religious sites, and military academies.
Indoctrination and Military Training
The children are either temporarily sent to these centers or receive Russian citizenship and are forced into adoptions. Older children undergo military training, including “drone operation” training, shooting competitions, and grenade throwing. The report notes that the children are being taught Russian history and forced to sing the Russian national anthem.
20,000 Cases of Illegal Deportation
Based on data shared with Europol, approximately 20,000 cases of illegal deportation and forced relocation of Ukrainian children have been reported. This information will aid in identifying locations where they are held and eventually help with their return to Ukraine.
