Police Pursuit Through Gdyni Streets: Gunshots Fired After Car Crash

Gdyni police opened fire during a police pursuit through the city’s streets on Tuesday, September 17, following multiple criminal violations by a 52-year-old local man.

Chylońska Street Incident

The pursuit began on Chylońska Street in Gdyni around 7 AM on September 16 when police attempted to stop a vehicle. Instead of stopping, the driver fled from the Morska Street towards the Kwiatkowski Estakada.

Ramming Police Car

After ramming into a police car, the driver continued fleeing, eventually crashing into a patrol car from Chwarzna. Unsuccessful in stopping the vehicle, police resorted to gunfire, firing three shots in pursuit.

Resolution and Arrest

The 52-year-old Gdyni resident was eventually apprehended near Koperkowa Street, where he abandoned the Volkswagen and fled on foot, throwing a container with a white substance before attempting to escape on foot.
