Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Prime Minister Donald Tusk warn of growing threats from Russia, emphasizing the need for national unity and a strong military.
Minister’s Warning
Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Poland must secure its homeland to prevent situations like the 1939 invasion from happening again. He highlighted that Poland’s security is built on three pillars: the strength of society, alliances, and the army.
The minister described Russia’s actions as a “large-scale, planned operation” aimed at attacking NATO countries, emphasizing that the threat comes from the direction of Russia, which attacked Poland in 1939.
Premier’s Emphasis on Unity
Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed the need for national unity in the face of clear threats, stating that Poland will be “unconquerable” when united. He warned that if Poland allows internal divisions, it would give Russia the opportunity to triumph.
Military Exercises
The Polish army is conducting large-scale exercises, including the “Żelazny Obrońca” maneuvers, which aim to test selected military units and demonstrate strength. The exercises are being observed by the Minister of National Defense.
