Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski will attend the 80th UN General Assembly session in New York from September 21-24.
UN General Assembly Session Details
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Radosław Sikorski will participate in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. Sikorski will be part of the Polish delegation led by Karol Nawrocki. This marks the first time Sikorski will accompany Nawrocki on a foreign visit.
During the UN session, Karol Nawrocki is scheduled to deliver a speech. The General Assembly is the main legislative organ of the United Nations, comprising representatives from all member states, each having one vote. Decisions on key issues, such as peace and security, require a two-thirds majority.
Potential Meeting with Ukrainian President
Marcin Przydacz, head of the Presidential Office of International Policy, stated that Karol Nawrocki may meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the UN General Assembly session. Przydacz mentioned that if Zelensky is present, a direct meeting is likely to occur. He also noted that preparations for Nawrocki’s visit to Ukraine are underway.
