Cornfield Combines Engulfed in Flames Twice in One Night

Firefighters responded to two separate incidents of a combine harvester catching fire in a cornfield in Leszno, near Warsaw, on September 17.

Initial Fire and Response

On September 17, at 9:31 PM, emergency services were alerted to a fire involving a combine harvester in a cornfield on Inżynierska Street in Leszno. When the first fire brigade arrived, the machine was fully engulfed in flames. The operator had managed to exit the vehicle before the emergency services arrived.

Fire Suppression and Second Incident

Firefighters extinguished the fire and secured the area. However, just before 1:00 AM, they were called back to the same location as the combine harvester had reignited. The second fire was quickly brought under control.

Response and Investigation

A total of three firefighting units, two from OSP Leszno and one from JRG Błonie, along with a police patrol, were involved in the operations. The causes and circumstances of the fire remain unknown.
