Two women, one riding an electric bike and the other an electric scooter, collided head-on on a bike path in Warsaw’s Mokotów district on September 19, 2025, at around 5 pm.
Incident Details
On the bike path along Czerniakowska Street, at the intersection with Zaruskiego Street, a collision occurred between the riders of an electric bike and an electric scooter. Both women sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital.
Circumstances of the Crash
Initial findings indicated that the electric bike rider was traveling towards Łazienkowski Bridge, while the electric scooter rider was heading in the opposite direction, from Sadyba towards the bridge. For reasons yet to be determined, one of the riders veered into the oncoming lane, resulting in the collision.
Injuries and Response
The electric scooter rider, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered more severe injuries. The electric bike rider was suspected of having a head and jaw injury and was also hospitalized. Two medical rescue teams and the police were present at the scene, with the police securing the area and conducting explanatory proceedings.
Legal Proceedings
The further course of the case will depend on the qualification of the injuries and the police’s findings. If the injuries require treatment for less than 7 days and the perpetrator admits to the offense, the proceedings may conclude with a fine. If neither participant acknowledges fault or if the injuries require longer hospitalization, the materials will be forwarded to the court.
