The Polish government has advised citizens to prepare an emergency evacuation kit with essential items in case of a sudden and dangerous situation.
When to Use an Emergency Evacuation Kit
Every person should prepare an emergency evacuation kit that can be used in case of a sudden and dangerous situation requiring evacuation from their place of residence.
What Should an Emergency Evacuation Kit Contain?
The kit should be comfortable, functional, made of waterproof material, and spacious. Its contents should be checked at least every six months to ensure they can be used effectively.
The Government’s Centre for Safety has listed essential items for the kit, including practical equipment that can be used in a crisis situation.
Government Guide to Crisis Situations
At the end of August, the Polish government presented a “Safety Guide” that is now available electronically. By the first half of next year, every household should receive a paper version of the brochure, which will have around 20-30 pages.
The guide, prepared in cooperation with various ministries, the Government’s Centre for Safety, experts, local governments, services, and non-governmental organizations, offers practical tips on creating family crisis plans, evacuation rules, alarm signals, and checklists to facilitate preparation of supplies and necessary equipment.
