A 70-year-old man from Ciechanowo county caused a road collision while driving a tractor with over 2 promiles of alcohol in his system on September 17.
Incident Details
The accident occurred at around 1:40 PM on provincial road no. 616 in Kalisz, where the 70-year-old driver of a Ursus tractor made a left turn without yielding to an Iveco vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man from Płock county.
The tractor driver lost control and drove into a ditch. An initial breathalyzer test revealed over 2 promiles of alcohol in his system.
Charges and Consequences
The 70-year-old man was detained and spent the night in a police cell. He has been stripped of his driving license and had his blood drawn for further testing.
He faces up to 3 years in prison, a court-imposed driving ban, and a hefty fine for driving under the influence and causing a road collision.
