Jarosław Kaczyński has called on supporters of the Law and Justice (PiS) party to provide financial support, with the party needing 10-15 million PLN per year to function effectively.
Financial State of PiS
According to Henryk Kowalczyk, a PiS MP, the party requires 10-15 million PLN per year to operate efficiently. In the current year, they may receive around 3 million PLN. The party’s finances have been impacted by a reduced subsidy of approximately 10 million PLN.
Financial Appeals and Donations
Kaczyński recently appealed to supporters for donations, stating that the party has significant expenses, including a major program congress in October and an election campaign. The appeal follows a previous call for donations, which resulted in a significant response and enabled the party to conduct and win the presidential campaign.
Impact of Financial Regulations
The National Electoral Commission rejected PiS’s financial report for the 2023 parliamentary elections, resulting in a 10 million PLN reduction in the party’s subsidy. In response, PiS decided that MPs would contribute 1000 PLN, while MEPs would contribute 5000 PLN to the party’s account.
