Abandoned Luggage at Modlin Airport Triggers Security Response

On September 21, a security operation was launched at Warsaw-Modlin Airport after a traveler abandoned a suitcase at the terminal entrance.

Incident Details

The incident occurred at around 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, when a traveler left a suitcase unattended on the approach roundabout to the terminal at Warsaw-Modlin Airport.

Security Response

The area was temporarily cordoned off, and airport and police services conducted an investigation into the abandoned luggage.

The security operation lasted about an hour, during which the roundabout was closed off with tape, and only authorized personnel and airport employees had access to the area.

Outcome and Aftermath

Before 4:00 PM, the services completed the investigation of the luggage and found no threat; the suitcase did not require further action.

After the operation, normal traffic was restored in the airport area, and standard passenger service was resumed.
