72-Year-Old Man Arrested for Stealing from Over 70 Apartments Across Poland

A 72-year-old man was arrested in Zielona Góra on September 15 for a string of burglaries committed over 14 years across Poland, targeting around 70 apartments.

Details of the Arrest

The suspect, a 72-year-old man from Gdańsk, was caught by police in Zielona Góra while in possession of tools used to break into apartments and items stolen during a recent burglary.

Extent of the Crimes

According to police, the man had been committing burglaries since 2011, traveling across the country by car and using a bicycle to approach his targets.

He would typically operate alone, using a similar modus operandi each time, and chose his targets spontaneously.

Investigation and Charges

The investigation, led by police in Lidzbark Warmiński, lasted over a year and involved tracking the suspect’s activities across Poland.

The 72-year-old was charged with eight counts of burglary and attempted burglary in Lidzbark Warmiński and Zielona Góra.

The prosecutor’s office in Lidzbark Warmiński has requested a temporary arrest warrant, and the suspect is now under police supervision.
