Countries Supporting Palestine
Several countries, including Malta, Luxembourg, France, Belgium, San Marino, Andorra, and Armenia, are expected to recognize Palestine as a sovereign state during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. Currently, countries such as the UK, Australia, Canada, and Portugal have already recognized Palestine.
Countries Opposed to Palestine’s Statehood
The United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Cameroon, Panama, Italy, and Germany do not support Palestine’s statehood. Italy and Germany’s stance is influenced by their historical ties with Israel. Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia also do not plan to recognize Palestine.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that there will be no Palestinian state, as it would threaten Israel’s existence. In contrast, Palestinian Deputy Foreign Minister Omar Awadallah described the recognition of Palestine as a “historic moment” that offers hope to the Palestinian people.
