The Polish government is under scrutiny after a report revealed a missile, not a Russian drone, damaged a house in Wyryki, Lublin Voivodeship, on September 9-10.
The incident involved a Polish AIM-120 AMRAAM missile from an F-16 fighter jet, which malfunctioned and damaged a house in Wyryki.
According to “Rzeczpospolita” daily, the missile’s guidance system failed, but safety mechanisms prevented it from exploding.
Sławomir Cenckiewicz, head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), called for a “confrontation on notes” with Ministerial spokespersons, suggesting a parliamentary probe into the incident.
Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the Minister of Special Services Coordination, criticized Cenckiewicz, saying he lacks access to classified information and should not have it.
Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that all information about the incident was shared with relevant parties, including the BBN and General Staff.
The Presidential Office also expressed expectations for immediate clarification on the incident, emphasizing no agreement on concealing information.
