A tragic road accident occurred on Warsaw Heroes Street in Węgrowo at around 1:00 PM. The 80-year-old woman died on a marked pedestrian crossing without traffic lights.
Circumstances of the Collision
According to initial findings, the bus driver had stopped to let the pedestrian pass on his left side. However, as she entered the crossing, she was hit by the 20-year-old Audi driver coming from the opposite direction. The impact was severe, causing her to fall several dozen meters away.
Investigation and Aftermath
The Audi driver stopped a few dozen meters past the crossing. The police reported that he was sober, and further procedures are being conducted with him. The street was completely blocked in both directions during the emergency response.
