“Jaszczur” and Ewa S. Face Consequences for Hate Speech

A Polish court has sentenced Wojciech O., known as “Jaszczur,” to community service and Ewa S. to a fine for hate speech against Jews and Ukrainians.

Verdict in Hate Speech Case

“Jaszczur,” Wojciech O. from the Rodacy Kamraci movement, and Ewa S. were found guilty of inciting hatred and public defamation. The case involved an internet broadcast from June 2022, where both made scandalous remarks about Jews and Ukrainians.

The Kielce District Court sentenced Wojciech O. to one year of limited freedom, including 32 hours of monthly community service. Ewa S. was ordered to pay a 4,000 PLN fine. Both parties must also cover the trial costs. The verdict is not binding.

Additional Charges and Arrests

Wojciech O. was arrested in early June in connection with another case, along with Marcin O., known as “Ludwiczek.” In August, an indictment was filed against both men with 154 charges, including public praise of crimes and incitement to hatred.

Possible Further Charges

“Jaszczur” has a history of similar offenses and has served time in prison. Investigators do not rule out additional charges, as an ongoing investigation is examining over 1,200 events involving both men from 2015 to 2024.
