Moscow Under Drone Attack: Moments of Terror

On the night of September 22-23, Moscow residents witnessed a significant drone attack, with 69 drones reported across nine regions, including Moscow and Crimea.

Drone Attack Details

According to information shared on the Russian Telegram messenger, 34 drones were spotted in the skies over Moscow before midnight on September 22. The Russian Defense Minister reported a total of 69 drones across nine regions, including Moscow and Crimea, on the morning of September 23.

Most, if not all, of the drones were reportedly shot down. Footage on Russian channels showed areas where drones had fallen.

Incident in Residential Area

In Moscow’s New Moscow district, a jet transport plane flew low over residential buildings, likely to avoid collision with one of the drones during the attack.

Airport Disruptions

Three airports – Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo – reported disruptions due to the attacks, with over 30 flights delayed and several completely canceled.

Ukraine’s Response

The Ukrainian side has not commented on the reports of the attacks. Recently, peace talks have stalled. Oleh Kiper, governor of the Odessa region, reported that on the same night, a Russian missile killed a woman and injured several others in Odessa.
