Poland, along with several other countries, has declared its readiness to provide financial and medical support to Gaza, including medical personnel and essential equipment.
Declaration of Support for Gaza
The declaration, published on the Canadian government’s website, was signed by the foreign ministers of Poland, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Appeal to Israel
The statement also includes a strong appeal to Israel to restore the medical corridor, allowing the evacuation of patients from Gaza and enabling them to receive necessary treatment in Palestinian territories.
The declaration calls for the removal of restrictions on medical supplies and equipment to Gaza, in line with Israel’s international law obligations.
Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza
Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues its ground offensive in Gaza, advancing into the most populated areas of the city, with reports of tanks moving in from the north and south, and explosions destroying homes and roads.
Local authorities report that three hospitals have stopped functioning, and additional civilians have been killed in the airstrikes.
International Response
Over the past week, several countries, including France, the UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal, have recognized Palestine as a sovereign state.
US former President Donald Trump is set to address the UN General Assembly, where he is expected to discuss the situation in Gaza and propose a peace plan.
