Russia Rejects NATO’s Drone Airspace Violation Claims; Sikorski Warns at UN

Russia denies violating NATO airspace with drones, while Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski issues a stern warning at the UN; Denmark reports a serious drone incident.

Russian Denial of Airspace Violations

Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesperson, rejected NATO’s claims that Russia has been violating the airspace of its member states with drones, calling the accusations “baseless” and without credible evidence.

Peskov stated that Russian aircraft always adhere to international law and do not exceed its boundaries.

Polish Minister’s Warning at the UN

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski addressed the UN Security Council, warning Russia that if any of its aircraft or missiles enter Polish airspace without permission and are shot down, Poland will not tolerate any complaints from Russia.

Denmark Reports Drone Incident

Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described a nighttime drone incident as the “most serious attack on Danish infrastructure” to date.

The incident led to a four-hour suspension of air traffic over Copenhagen, with the airport since reopened.

Denmark’s intelligence services classified the incident as a “hybrid event,” while police described it as a “very serious situation.”

Possible Connection Between Incidents

The drone incident in Denmark was followed by a similar incident in Oslo, leading authorities in both countries to suspect a possible connection between the events.
