Russian Politician Sparks Scandal with Hitler Comparison, Calls Sikorski a ‘Clinical Russophobe’

Russian politician Aleksey Zhuravlev compared Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski to Hitler, sparking outrage in response to Sikorski’s recent statements criticizing Russia.

Controversial Remarks

Aleksey Zhuravlev, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, made the scandalous comparison in an interview with NEWS.ru. He stated that Sikorski, whom he called a “clinical Russophobe,” would meet a similar fate to Hitler, implying that Sikorski’s aggressive stance towards Russia would ultimately lead to his downfall.

Russian Diplomatic Reaction

This is not the first instance of criticism from Moscow towards Warsaw. Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova responded to Poland’s refusal to engage in consultations proposed by the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding drone incursions into Polish airspace. Zakharova argued that Poland’s stance demonstrated a lack of interest in establishing the true circumstances of the incident.

Sikorski’s Address to the UN

During a Security Council meeting, Sikorski addressed recent incidents involving Russia in Poland and Estonia, emphasizing that instead of apologies, only lies were presented. He called for the condemnation of Moscow’s actions and a clear declaration that such attacks would not be tolerated. Sikorski warned the Kremlin that any further incursions into Polish airspace would be met with a strong response.
