Circumstances of the Incident
On September 12, Antoś, a five-year-old boy, was left unattended and wandered into a tree cutting zone, where a branch fell on him, causing fatal head and face injuries.
Investigation and Charges
The Prosecutor’s Office in Pułtusk has launched an investigation into the child’s death, focusing on endangering the child and unintentional manslaughter. No charges have been brought against anyone yet.
Events Leading to the Incident
The boy’s mother had left him under the care of his father, who was cutting trees nearby. The mother had gone home due to health issues related to her pregnancy. The boy was left in the company of two other children aged 10 and 11.
Medical Response and Autopsy
Despite medical efforts, including reanimation and transportation to a Warsaw hospital by a medical helicopter, the boy died the next day. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was a cranio-cerebral trauma.
