A mysterious object fell on a house in Wyryki, Poland, sparking speculation about its origin, with various reports suggesting it could be a Norwegian missile or a Polish F-16’s malfunctioning air-to-air missile.
Investigation Underway
According to journalists from Radio Eska, the object that fell on a house in Wyryki, Lublin Voivodeship, may not have been a missile fired by a Polish F-16 fighter jet. Instead, they suggest it could have been a missile from a Norwegian F-35.
The journalists have contacted the prosecutor’s office, which stated that it is currently not providing information on the matter, emphasizing that the investigation is at an early stage.
Earlier Speculations
Earlier reports from “Rzeczpospolita” suggested that the object was an AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missile fired by a Polish F-16, which was attempting to intercept a Russian drone but experienced a guidance system malfunction.
Official Response
Minister-coordinator of special services Tomasz Siemoniak commented on the matter, stating that it is probable that Polish or allied pilots used weapons, which could have resulted in the incident, but urged not to get too excited.
Initial Suspicions
Initially, there was speculation that a Russian drone that had violated Polish airspace might have been responsible for damaging the house.
