Polish Authorities Foil Terrorist Plot, Arrest Another Suspect

On September 24, Polish internal security agents arrested a fourth 19-year-old man in Olsztyn, suspected of planning a terrorist attack on a local high school.

Background of the Investigation

The arrest was made by the Agencja Bezpieczeństwa Wewnętrznego (ABW), Poland’s internal security agency, as part of an ongoing investigation into a planned terrorist attack. The probe led to the detention of three 19-year-old men in recent months who were suspected of planning an attack on a high school in Olsztyn.

Details of the Latest Arrest

The latest suspect, also 19, was arrested on the same day, and authorities found suspicious materials in his residence, potentially explosive in nature. According to Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the coordinator of special services, the investigation is ongoing and further arrests cannot be ruled out.

Nature of the Threat

The suspects were reportedly fascinated with major killings and murderers in modern European history. The charges against them include participating in training that could enable them to commit terrorist crimes and familiarizing themselves with content that could facilitate such acts.

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison. Two of the men were temporarily arrested in June, while a preventive measure was applied to the third, allowing him to be released.
