Polish-Flagged Ship Targeted in Drone Attack on Humanitarian Flotilla

A Polish-flagged ship was attacked by drones while part of a humanitarian flotilla attempting to reach Gaza, with a Polish MP calling for government action to protect the vessels.

Drone Attacks on Humanitarian Flotilla

Activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla reported that drones dropped chemical substances on some of the ships, causing communication disruptions and explosions, but no casualties were reported.

Attack on Polish-Flagged Ship

Polish MP Franciszek Sterczewski, who was on board a Polish-flagged ship, stated that a drone struck the ship’s mast with a sonic bomb, causing a significant explosion that damaged the sail but left everyone on board unharmed.

Sterczewski reported that a total of 13 attacks were carried out on 10 ships, with three vessels damaged.

Call for Government Action

Sterczewski urged the Polish government to protect the Global Sumud Flotilla and take action to end the genocide in Gaza, stating that the attack on the Polish-flagged ship could be considered a violation of international and Polish law.

Flotilla Background

The international flotilla, consisting of 51 vessels, set sail from Barcelona in early September with the aim of breaking the Israeli blockade of Gaza and delivering humanitarian aid.
