Prosecutors in Poland are seeking witnesses to a fatal car accident on September 5, which killed two people, including journalist Katarzyna Stoparczyk.
Search for Witnesses
The prosecutor’s office is looking for people who witnessed the accident on expressway S19 in Jeżowe, Podkarpackie region, or provided first aid to the victims. Those who may have information are asked to contact the prosecutor’s office or local police.
Prosecutor Piotr Walkowicz said that witnesses can be questioned at their place of residence if they are not from the area.
Investigation Update
The 29-year-old driver of the black Skoda, in which Katarzyna Stoparczyk was traveling, has been questioned. However, details of his testimony have not been released.
The 61-year-old driver of the white Skoda is still in hospital with serious injuries, and his questioning has not been possible.
Cause of the Accident
According to initial findings, the 61-year-old driver was traveling at a low speed due to engine failure, when the black Skoda collided with the rear of his vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing, with forensic experts’ opinions expected to help determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
