Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed NATO and the EU declared war on Russia through Ukraine during a G20 meeting in New York.

Lavrov’s Allegations at G20

Sergei Lavrov participated in a G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in New York on September 25, reiterating Russia’s claim that the West provoked the Ukraine war.

He stated, “NATO and the European Union declared a real war on my country through Ukraine and are directly involved in it.”

Western “Neocolonial Ambitions”

Lavrov accused Western nations of pursuing “neocolonial ambitions” in Ukraine, alleging these actions increase global instability and fuel regional conflicts.

He linked the escalation in the Middle East to violations of the UN Charter, claiming it belongs to the same category of destabilizing events.

Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Lavrov discussed the war in Gaza, noting the conflict has already claimed 65,000 lives, with some UN officials suggesting the actual toll may be ten times higher.

He warned that no neighbor of Israel can feel secure, emphasizing the daily risks observed in the region.
