Lukashenko Warns Ukraine After Meeting with Putin: “It Will Get Worse”

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko warns Ukraine of dire consequences if it rejects proposals discussed with Putin.

Proposals Sent to Washington

Alexander Lukashenko stated that good proposals were discussed with President Putin, which were relayed to Washington for consideration. He emphasized that if Ukraine rejects these proposals, it could lead to a scenario akin to the start of a cold war, with even worse consequences. Lukashenko warned that Ukraine could be lost if these proposals are not accepted.

“We Must Reach an Agreement”

Lukashenko urged that to avoid losing Ukraine, President Zelensky must not only negotiate but also agree to favorable terms. He noted that these terms have already been accepted by the Americans. The Belarusian leader stressed that the leaders of the three Slavic states must sit down and reach an agreement to end the incomprehensible war, as failure to do so would be detrimental to all.

“I Call Myself a Trumpist”

Lukashenko compared Trump’s tactics to his own, describing Trump as a rebel in the best sense of the word. He stated that Vladimir Putin highly respects Trump, as does he. Lukashenko emphasized the importance of deeply understanding Trump’s statements and avoiding criticism after every announcement.

Zelensky: Russians Are Sick of War

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Putin of deceiving leaders by claiming that occupying forces are achieving their goals. He noted that Russia has been forced to invent new reasons for repeatedly postponing deadlines. Zelensky asserted that despite global condemnation, Russia continues with new attacks and strikes on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure, demonstrating a pathological obsession with war. He emphasized that only decisive action and support can stop this “Russian virus of war.”

Trump-Putin Meeting in August

In August, Putin reportedly presented Trump with Moscow’s expectations regarding Ukraine. According to Reuters, under a proposed Russian agreement, Kyiv would withdraw from eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions in exchange for Russia freezing front lines in southern Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Russia would also return small areas of Ukrainian territory it occupied in northern Sumy and northeastern Kharkiv. Putin reportedly opposed Ukraine’s potential NATO membership.

Trump: Ukraine Can Reclaim Its Territory

Donald Trump stated that Ukraine, with EU support, can fight to reclaim all its territory. He argued that Russia’s economic struggles make this feasible and that Ukraine should act now. Trump expressed support for continued NATO arms supplies to Ukraine, wishing both countries success.
