French climber scales Europe’s tallest skyscraper, Varso Tower, without safety gear

A 24-year-old Frenchman, Titouan Leduc, climbed Warsaw’s Varso Tower—Europe’s highest building—unaided, prompting a police intervention.

Rescue teams respond to daring ascent

Emergency services intervened after the climber scaled the Varso Tower in Warsaw’s Wola district, the tallest building in the European Union. Five fire crews, including a high-altitude rescue team, secured the area to ensure public safety near the intersection of Chmielna Street and John Paul II Avenue.

Climber detained after record ascent

Police arrested Leduc after he reached the summit, making him the first person to summit the building via its exterior. The incident marks his second unauthorized climb in Warsaw this year.

On June 22, Leduc also scaled the Presidential Hotel, again without safety equipment, before being detained.
