Former Poland 2050 MP Attacks Hołownia: “You’re Messing with People’s Minds in the Party”

Izabela Bodnar, a former MP from Poland 2050, criticized Szymon Hołownia for voting on the presidential project on the Supreme Chamber of Control (CPK).

Bodnar Criticizes Hołownia for CPK Vote

Izabela Bodnar, a former MP from Poland 2050, took to social media to criticize Szymon Hołownia regarding the vote on the presidential project about the Supreme Chamber of Control (CPK). During the Friday (September 26) session of the Sejm, it was decided to send the project for further work in the committees. Some MPs from Poland 2050, including Hołownia, voted against rejecting the project in the first reading.

In her post, Bodnar directly addressed Hołownia, the leader of the party and Marshal of the Sejm. “Szymon, I have one overriding regret with you. Not that you are blocking my return to the Sejm committees, I will survive, I will wait for the rotation, but that you are messing with the minds of so many decent people in the party, ordering them to vote again for something absurd from the point of view of the constitution and natural decision-making processes,” she wrote.

Bodnar Questions Hołownia’s Political Motivations

Bodnar further questioned whether explaining to Hołownia that the government is responsible for the CPK project would make a difference. “But it is. And allowing even the debate on a compromised, unprofitable project of PiS is irrational, ineffective, only giving fuel to your political competitors,” she added. She then asked Hołownia who his real political competitor is. “Wake up, former boss! Before it goes too far and even the show business environment, mega-aware, starts avoiding contact… there is still time for reflection,” she concluded.

Earlier, she published a post criticizing the party itself, stating that “once again, I am glad I left the ranks of Poland 2050.” “I am totally disgusted by today’s vote of my colleagues on the presidential law on the CPK. Shame, colleagues! I don’t know where you are heading, but this is a hopeless direction,” she added.

Hołownia Explains the Vote

Szymon Hołownia addressed the vote during a press briefing in the Sejm. Before that, he met with Donald Tusk, with whom he also discussed the matter. The prime minister had earlier said he expected Poland 2050 to explain why they voted against rejecting the project in the first reading. “The Infrastructure Commission really wants to work on this law to show the absurdities contained in it. I explained this to the prime minister, and my explanations were accepted. As an MP, I believe that one must be extremely careful about rejecting laws in the first reading, especially such as this, which was widely commented on by citizens in social consultations,” Hołownia told journalists. He also assured that there was no party discipline in his party regarding this vote.
