The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts warmer-than-average temperatures in Poland from October to February.
Snowfall and Weather Patterns
According to NOAA, from October to February, Poland may experience temperatures above the seasonal norm. TVN24 Meteo, citing the NOAA model, indicates that a cloudy high-pressure system will bring fog, sleet, and drizzle to Poland in December. However, there is a possibility of a “traditional” winter returning in January and February, with significant atmospheric pressure deviations below normal, particularly in Eastern Europe. Heavy precipitation is also forecasted for the early months of the year.
October Weather Outlook
Before winter arrives, Poland should prepare for a warm but rainy October. The average temperature will be higher than the long-term average (1991-2020) in the Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Masovian, Lublin, Świętokrzyskie, Subcarpathian, Lesser Poland, Łódź, Opole, Silesian, and Lower Silesian voivodeships. However, meteorologists do not expect this trend in the rest of Poland, where precipitation levels will exceed the norm.
