A conveyor belt at a food processing facility in Kamieniec (Tarnogórski County, Silesian Voivodeship) trapped a worker’s leg on Sunday, September 28, before 11:00 AM. According to “Dziennik Zachodni,” the employee was pinned by a moving conveyor belt. “The conveyor belt pulled the worker’s leg, trapping him. Hydraulic tools were needed to free him,” stated the duty officer of the State Fire Service in Tarnowskie Góry.
Injured worker
A 28-year-old man from Rudy Śląska was taken to a hospital in Katowice by air ambulance. He was conscious at the time. Police confirmed he was sober. “He was sober,” said Press Officer Kamil Kubica of the Municipal Police Command in Tarnowskie Góry, as quoted by “Dziennik Zachodni.”
Investigation
According to Radio Eska, the police and the State Labor Inspectorate will investigate the circumstances of the accident. They will determine whether safety and hygiene regulations were followed during machine operation and whether the equipment was properly secured.
