A delivery truck driver struck a police officer in Mazowieckie, Poland, on Thursday, leaving the officer with serious injuries.
Collision and pursuit
A delivery truck driver collided with a parked BMW in Pomiechówek and fled. The car owner called the police and followed the driver, updating officers in real time. During an attempted traffic stop in Nuna, the driver of the Fiat Ducato accelerated violently, hitting one of the officers.
Officer’s injuries
The 41-year-old officer was hospitalized with a concussion, head injuries, and hand injuries.
Driver arrested
The 38-year-old driver was arrested in Dębe. He had over 2 promille of alcohol in his system and was previously banned from driving. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
