Drone Incidents Over Europe: Zelensky Reveals Russian Involvement

Ukrainian President Zelensky accuses Russia of using tankers to launch drones targeting European countries.

Zelensky’s Accusations

In recent days, several European countries have reported incidents involving unidentified drones near strategic sites like airports. On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia is using tankers to launch and control drones attacking European nations. He emphasized the need for stricter sanctions against Russia, calling for the closure of the Baltic Sea and other waters to Russian tankers, at least for the “shadow fleet.”

Zelensky also discussed the issue with former U.S. President Donald Trump, urging decisive action to pressure Russia into ending the war.

Massive Russian Drone Attack on Ukraine

Zelensky revealed that a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine overnight from Saturday to Sunday lasted over 12 hours. Russia launched nearly 500 attack drones and over 40 missiles, including “Kinzhals.” In Kyiv, four people, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed, and at least 70 others were injured across Ukraine, including children.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Polish embassy in Kyiv was damaged during the attack. A missile pierced the building’s roof but did not explode. Despite the difficult conditions, Polish diplomats are safe and have prepared documentation on the incident.

Denmark Bans Civilian Drone Flights

On Monday, Denmark banned all civilian drone flights ahead of the European Union summit in Copenhagen. The country, among several in Europe, has recently reported drone-related incidents. Over the weekend, drones were spotted near Danish military facilities.

Police are on high alert ahead of the European leaders’ summit scheduled for October 1-2. The drone flight ban will remain in effect until October 3, with violations punishable by fines or up to two years in prison. Since September 22, Denmark has recorded cases of unidentified drones, leading to the closure of airports in Copenhagen and Oslo. Last week, airports in Aalborg and Billund also suspended operations due to drone sightings.
