A fourth victim has died after a crash on the S8 highway near Oleśnica, as confirmed by Bernadeta Pytel from the Oleśnica County Police Command on Monday, September 29.
Previously, TVN24 reported that a passenger in a Škoda car had died in the hospital, while the driver and another passenger were killed at the scene.
Accident details
The accident occurred on Saturday, September 27, after 10:00 AM on the S8 highway in Oleśnica (Oleśnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship).
Emergency services, including the Oleśnica Fire Brigade, Dobroszyce and Ligota Polska volunteer fire departments, medical teams, air ambulance, and police, were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigations suggest that the 58-year-old Lithuanian driver of a Scania truck likely fell asleep and collided with a Škoda, which then hit a Peugeot. “The Škoda then struck the rear of the Scania truck,” explained Asp. Bernadeta Pytel to TVN24.
