Russia dismisses the impact of potential US Tomahawk missile deliveries to Ukraine, calling them ineffective.
Russia’s Stance on Tomahawk Missiles
On Monday, September 29, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on reports about the possible US delivery of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. “Even if the United States sends its Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, there is currently no universal solution that could change the situation on the front for the regime in Kyiv. No magic weapon exists, and Tomahawk or other missiles will simply not change the situation,” he stated. Peskov also noted that Russian military experts are monitoring the issue of potential US missile deliveries to Ukraine.
US Considers Selling Tomahawk Missiles to Allies
On Sunday, September 28, US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the US is considering selling Tomahawk missiles to its NATO allies, who could then send them to Ukraine. Vance added that the final decision lies with Donald Trump. The same day, US envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg stated that the US has not yet made a decision regarding the potential sale of Tomahawk missiles. During a meeting in New York on September 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked Trump to provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles.
US Allows Ukraine to Strike Deep into Russia
On Sunday, Keith Kellogg told Fox News that the US allows Ukraine to conduct long-range strikes on Russian territory in certain cases. “Based on the words of President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, I think the answer is yes. Yes, use the opportunity to strike deep,” he said. Kellogg added that “Russia is not winning this war.” “If they were, they would be in Kyiv, Odesa,” he stated.
