Brutal attack on Warsaw metro station: Man beaten with a hammer and robbed

A 35-year-old man was beaten with a kitchen hammer and robbed of his watch during a robbery at the Dworzec Wileński metro station in Warsaw.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 29, when a 35-year-old man was randomly approached and struck several times in the head with a kitchen hammer by an unknown assailant. The attacker also stole the victim’s watch before fleeing the scene.

Arrest and investigation

Police identified and arrested a 32-year-old suspect, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack. The suspect, a repeat offender, was charged with armed robbery, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Due to his criminal record, he may face an even harsher penalty.

Police action

Officers broadcast a description of the suspect, leading to his arrest near Targowa Street. Surveillance footage from the metro station confirmed his involvement. Police also recovered the stolen watch, which the suspect had discarded to evade responsibility.
