Electric Mini Cooper Fire on Żołnierska Intersection, Road Blocked Until 2 p.m.

An electric Mini Cooper caught fire on the intersection of Żołnierska and Czwartaków streets in Warsaw at about 09:40 on Monday, September 30, 2025, forcing a road closure until 14:00.

Incident Details

A report was received by the Warsaw Public Emergency Service Station at approximately 09:40 on Monday, September 30, 2025, about a car fire at the intersection of Żołnierska and Czwartaków streets heading north from Mars Street. Five fire units were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters found the vehicle a burning electric Mini Cooper. The only occupant—a driver—had already left the vehicle by force before the crew arrived; no casualties were reported. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Firefighting Response

Due to the vehicle’s electric drivetrain, the wreck was monitored for several hours to detect any secondary fires while the battery temperature was controlled.

Road Closure and Monitoring

During monitoring, the intersection of Żołnierska and Czwartaków remained blocked. Traffic was restored around 14:00 after the monitoring period ended.

Investigation Status

The cause and circumstances of the incident have not yet been determined. The site was secured until firefighting and cooling of the propulsion system were completed.
