Tusk Urges Europe to Join Ukraine War; Orban Blames Him for Endangering Millions

At the Warsaw SecurityForum, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared the Ukraine war a shared conflict for Europe, while Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned him on X that he is endangering millions of Europeans.

Donald Tusk: “This Is Also Our War”

During a conference organized by the Kazimierz Pułaski Foundation, Tusk told Polish listeners that the war in Ukraine is not only a Ukrainian conflict but also a battle that concerns all Europeans.

He spoke of voices claiming the war does not affect them, that they should not contribute money, time, or soldiers, and called this stance a fascist project aimed at enslaving peoples and eroding human rights.

Orban’s Warning: “You Are Playing a Dangerous Game”

On X, Hungary’s prime minister Viktor Orban reacted to Tusk’s remarks, saying Poland and the EU are not in a state of war with Russia, and that Tusk is playing a perilous game that endangers the lives and safety of millions of Europeans.

Hungary Asserts Strength

In a YouTube interview, Orban argued that the West fears Russian aggression even though Russia has only about 140 million people, whereas the EU includes more than 400 million. He claimed EU military spending represents a fraction compared with Hungary’s reliance on Russian oil and gas, and that Hungary remains committed to those supplies.

Orban said Russian energy is priced lower, and buying more expensive alternatives would raise prices for European consumers.

NATO Chief on Russian Armaments

NATO Secretary‑General Mark Rutte noted that Russia is rebuilding its arsenal faster than feared, producing in three months as much ammunition as NATO does in a year. He stressed that the NATO economy is 25 times larger than Russia’s, yet Russia’s armaments sector produces four times more ammunition.

Rutte urged expansion of the defence industrial base, adding production lines and shifts, to increase output significantly.
