235,000 Polish Citizens to Face 2026 Military Qualification

The Polish Ministry of Defense will call 235,000 people for a 2026 compulsory military screening, starting January 16, with medical commissions evaluating fitness between February 2 and April 30.

2026 Military Qualification

The Ministry of Defense published a regulation on September 1 to conduct a nationwide military qualification in 2026. The call will be announced on January 16, and the process will run from February 2 to April 30.

During this period, commission doctors will assess the fitness of designated citizens for active service.

Who Will Be Summoned?

In a compulsory mobilization triggered by a national security threat, first summons will target passive reserve soldiers holding a mobilization assignment.

Citizens with no prior military contact will not be called first. Nevertheless, 235 000 people are slated to be summoned for the qualification next year.

Free Military Courses for Volunteers

The Ministry of Defense and the Polish Army are organizing free training sessions over four Saturdays in October, in cities such as Kraków, Poznań, Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Gdynia, and Warsaw.

Each eight‑hour session will be led by top military instructors, covering first aid, wilderness survival, shelter, alarm response, and shooting.
