A 24‑year‑old broke into a primary school in Warsaw’s Ursynów district on Friday, September 26, smashing windows, stealing equipment and leaving the school in chaos.
School Break‑In
On Friday 26 September, a man smashed the front glass of a primary school in Warsaw’s Ursynów district and entered. He vandalised corridors, stole equipment, including a special safety arm from a disabled restroom, and damaged a vending machine.
Trace Left at the Scene
During the raid the suspect left his phone inside the school. Police used the device to identify him and spotted the man near the school shortly after. He had likely returned for the lost phone and was chased across school grounds and the residential area before being apprehended.
Damage to School Property and Vehicles
Investigators found that the same night the 24‑year‑old also damaged and stole several cars parked near the school and stole a bicycle worth 10,000 zł. Total losses run into several ten‑kinds of thousands of zł.
Eight Charges and Police Monitoring
The arrested man faces eight indictments, including burglary, robbery, and property damage, and is under police monitoring. Prosecutors warn that he could receive up to ten years in prison for these offenses.
