Bus With Preschoolers Engulfed in Flames Near Agri‑Tourism Farm

On Tuesday 30 September, a children’s bus caught fire near Sątopy, approximately 350 metres from a rural agri‑tourism farm in the Greater Poland region, after it was en route with preschoolers and their guardians.

Fire breaks out before emergency arrival

Early Tuesday morning, firefighters from Nowy Tomyśl received a call at 9 a.m. about a bus fire in Sątopy, Greater Poland.

All passengers safely evacuated

The 44 children, aged four and five, and five guardians promptly left the vehicle before the fire department arrived, escaping without injuries.

Fire spreads to nearby trees and mulch

The blaze quickly spread to adjacent trees and the surrounding mulch, potentially threatening the nearby agri‑tourism farm.

Firefighting operations

Firefighters secured the scene and extinguished the fire, monitoring the affected area with thermal cameras.

Technical details of the fire suppression

Responders entered the engine compartment to eliminate ignition points and the battery compartment supplying the bus, successfully suppressing the blaze.
