Drunk Woman Drives Into Hedge, Parks Under Wrong Block, 2.5 Promille

A 35‑year‑old Raciąż resident was caught driving a Honda into a hedge and parking under the wrong building after testing with more than 2.5 promille of alcohol, police said Monday.

The Incident

A 35‑year‑old resident of Raciąż drove a Honda into a hedge and onto the sidewalk, then reversed and parked in a private spot. Breath testing measured an alcohol concentration of over 2 promille, indicating total impairment.

Police Response

On Monday, 29 September, police from the Raciąż Police Station were dispatched to Kiliński Street after residents reported the scene. At the parking lot officers found the woman barely standing and slurring.

Evidential Findings

Witnesses said the woman had earlier driven onto the sidewalk and a hedge before backing into a parking space. She initially denied driving, then admitted she had come for a friend’s party, confused the buildings, and missed the curb when parking. A breath test confirmed the 2 promille level.

The woman was detained, her driver’s licence was placed under electronic restriction, and her car was moved to a police parking area. After sobering, she was charged with driving under the influence and now faces up to three years in prison, a multi‑year driving ban, and a substantial fine directed to the Victims Assistance Fund and Post‑penitentiary Assistance.
