A 24‑year‑old man was arrested in Warsaw’s Ursynów district on charges of a series of break‑ins, including a primary school burglary, after police pursued him for hours following a Friday night crime spree.
Break‑in at Primary School
The suspect smashed glass on the front doors and entered the school building. He then walked through corridors, causing extensive damage and taking items. Among the stolen items was a specialised safety arm from an accessible toilet, and he also vandalised a vending machine, resulting in significant losses.
Mobile Phone Leads to Arrest
During the burglary, the suspect left a mobile phone in the school. Police identified the owner of the device and used it as a key trace to locate the suspect.
Police Chase Through School and Estate
Once police saw the suspect re‑enter the area near the school, he attempted to flee. Officers pursued him on foot, pursued across fences, through school grounds and surrounding residential streets, stopping his escape within a short time.
Parallel Vehicle Vandalism
While the police were conducting the chase, people reported damage to parked vehicles nearby. Investigators determined that the same night the suspect had also broken car windows, damaged locks, removed parts, and stole a bicycle worth 10,000 PLN.
Charges and Police Supervision
The suspect was charged with eight offences, including burglary, theft and destruction of property. The prosecutor applied police supervision and appointed him to be monitored; he faces up to 10 years in prison. The case is overseen by the Warsaw‑Ursynów District Prosecutor’s Office.
