Fire erupts in underground battery storage

After 11 p.m. on Oct. 1, a fire broke out in an underground pit near 3 × 5 m that stored lithium‑ion batteries in Łazy, Piaseczno County. The blaze occurred without any casualties.

Fire spreads and causes structural collapse

Firefighters discovered various battery types from cordless tools, bicycles, and scooters that the owner processed in an undefined manner. Spontaneous ignition spread the fire through the room, and the intense heat caused part of the structure to collapse.

Firefighting operation achieves containment

The suppression effort, involving six brigades—three from local OSP units and three from PSP—ended around 3 a.m. with no injuries reported.
